You know how with a new baby, you start to talk funny. You go on and on about each little move and blink. Eye contact is over-the-moon wonderful. The world twinkles each time family, friends, neighbors, and strangers exclaim, “She’s so beautiful!”
That’s how it is with The Art of Ensoulment: A Playbook on How to Create From Body and Soul. I’m a proud mama. So much oo-ing and awe-ing.
Last week I sent my book to 50 GoFundMe Donors. Emails, texts, and reviews are saying,
“It was wonderful to read it as a PDF, but to have this aesthetic wonder in my hands with so much color and texture is a big WOW. Now I understand why it took you so long - the layout must've been a killer. :)It really is something... Kudos!”
“I started reading the Kindle version of this book as soon as I downloaded it. Immediately, I was taken with the concepts, invitations, and bodywisdom. Now, I have to be honest: I'm not finished reading this book because while I was reading the virtual copy, my "real" book arrived. And that is where the inspiration is really beginning. Suffice it to say: Cynthia is inviting me to live my life to the fullest here.”
“I am holding your beautiful baby in my hands right now! Thank you! Your artwork never ceases to amaze me, I get pulled in, & want to live in them a while. The colors of the pages, the texture of the paper, the font, quotes, prompts & questions all feel like I’m entering new territory, & want to invite others to join me. Damn amazing, girlfriend, & I’ve just begun! Bravo & deep gratitude!!”
My daughter shared it with those she counsels in a prison addiction program. They were inspired and loved the quote from Hafiz. My sister, a veteran financial manager and tabular thinker who, after reading it, said, “I want to take the class.”
I can’t thank Marla Durden enough for the visionary graphics and publishing choices. And yes, the artwork she chose is humbly and joyfully mine.
Now to Bless the Dream
Will you get the print version and join me for an online October 20th Book Blessing? I have a dream, even though the book is just a baby in the world. It will take some magical love and care if it is to grow up to be more than a bright yellow spine on the shelf of my friends.
The book is a map made for body and soul.
Marla calls it the Spirit of InterPlay. Coletta names it as “a rich presence of you & all the collaborators who have touched, held, inspired, & believed in you!”
The dream is that the practices, ideas, and wisdom in the book will be shared as a a curriculum/playbook by individuals, friends, playmates, coaches, spiritual directors, educators, counselors, and expressive art therapists, both one-to-one and in groups over the years.
While the book shines a light on 12 arts, our health in body and soul requires more than reading. That is why there are three modes of entry: the playbook, workshops, and ensouled coaching.
Do you need an Ensouled Coach?
I’ve been privileged to mentor seasoned therapists, guides, and artists who’ve taken my courses and have powerful wisdom, training, and lineages to bring to the art of ensoulment. I can’t overstate the impact of customizing one’s encounter with Art of Ensoulment in individual sessions and small group practicums.
While my plate is full, thankfully, a group of amazing Art of Ensoulment Coaches are available and ready to be of service whether you take a course, read the playbook or not. Click to see who they are.
My really, real big dream
Might you like to be a creativity coach alongside people using the playbook? Start by taking my course and email me. I wish I had this playbook in my 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s. Now that it is here, I’d love coaches in these age groups who can support and play with peers and younger ones. Would like to purchase a book and have me send it to a potential mentor as a gift from you and me? Email me at cynthia@interplay.org.
The book is beautiful! What a delight to receive. I look forward to engaging with it and sharing it in my practice with others.
Thank you Renee!
