“Cure yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon. With the sound of the river and the waterfall. With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds.
Heal yourself with mint, with neem and eucalyptus.
Sweeten yourself with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile.
Hug yourself with the cocoa bean and a touch of cinnamon.
Put love in tea instead of sugar, and take it looking at the stars.
Heal yourself with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain.
Get strong with bare feet on the ground and with everything that is born from it.
Get smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with the eye of your forehead.
Jump, dance, sing, so that you live happier.
Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember: you are the medicine.”
– María Sabin
Each time Coke Tani, beloved playmate, reaches into her wordheart, there is medicine for me. We both grew up in the Torrance area, the South Bay of Los Angeles County. Coke recently returned there to live in her Mother’s home. Accessing the physicality of grace in petting cats, Zumba, tumbling in waves- she calls in her prayers. Do follow her.
Amar Khalsa and Sahib Amar Khalsa, brilliant musicians in my InterPlay family, are parents to Ram Dass. Ram Dass has almost 500,000 followers on Spotify. I’m one. This week I listened to The Dances, a Nils Olav remix that “blends deep house grooves with the haunting elegance of Nordic folk music. Featuring the earthy textures of the nickelharpa and a hypnotic beat, the track feels equally at home on a sunrise dancefloor or in a forest ritual.” Ram Dass, Grecco Buratto, and Sukhmani Rayat’s lyrics drew me in.
Down in the meadow the people are here
Down in the meadow the people are here
Down in the meadow the people are here
There are gardens in summer
Flowers in the field
We run to the meadow
The people are here
We gather with hope
We're moving together
One and another
Meet in the middle
Hold out your arms and
Welcome it in it
The rose and the thorn
Are one and the same
My Earth grandmother
She is the Summer
Down in the meadow
The people are here
Down in the meadow the people are here
Down in the meadow the people are here
Down in the meadow the people are here.”
A friend sent me the following image from Heart String by Ciarra D'Onofrio and Dancers and the Threshold Choir. It reminds me of the paradigm shifting wisdom coming through The Telepathy Tapes, a podcast about the gifts of non-speaking austistic people whose telepathic communications are opening channels with care-givers, teachers, and family members. Their primary message is an invitation to Love and Interconnection.
I'll be in Seattle next weekend for the Friday/Saturday night performances of “What the F!!!” Can't wait to experience InterPlay magic under the skillful direction of Diana Trotter and her Artemis Theatre Project. Nine artists newly in love with wisdom of the body, and the magic inherent in our interplayful bodyspirits.
