One of the signatures of soul is spaciousness. When we are ensouled, we feel we can breathe. There is enough room. There is time. Nature helps us with this. We look out beyond ourselves. Space is there.
Sometimes, life’s too-fullness comes from the calendar. But more often, it results from sensory overload, like eating too much. Sometimes, it results from thinking too much. Thinking is beautiful and overrated.
Our bodies need to metabolize complex experiences. Metabolizing is not a conscious thing. It is about letting our system Take Its Time!
Humans today are metabolizing a lot!!
Emptying out our fullness is also seasonal. Right now, the riptide of winter dark pulls, and I can’t resist. I am Earth. I am fallowing, de-leafing, tending to the bones.
Oddly, it is also a time of harvest for me. As a creator, I am lucky. I gratefully create from spaciousness. The improvisational arts create space by opening me out beyond my little body.
Take Your Time. Create.
In InterPlay, we have eight core body wisdom tools. If I could, I would add a ninth, “Go the Speed of Your Body. Take Your Time.” When I pause, I make space for what is essential. Pacing is a beloved creative practice.
The body-wise bones of InterPlay give a structure to create from spaciousness and joy. I don’t have to spend a lot of time thinking about everything. I feel a knowingness in my practice, and because it is shared with so many gifted souls, I trust it.
Structure Creates Spaciousness!
The Dancing Center, The Sacred, rises through structure. What kind? Quantum physics? Spiritual byways cultivated by our ancestors? Artists, mystics, meditators, and healers learn and implement the resonant structures that open us up to the Unending Spaciousness of Life and Love. These structures are frequently revealed through dreams and creative space.
Guidance arises from Spaciousness.
I am concluding 146,000 days (40 years) of leaning into spacious creativity, listening, and saying yes. Out of this time, InterPlay arose. And now The Art of Ensoulment. The first gave me a common sense way to appreciate and play with body wisdom in a community of practice. The second is leading me to the architecture of soul power.
The Four Beloved Practices of the Art of Ensoulment hold space for souls to dance into Love’s Greatness, whatever our ancestry may be. I see how Bodies and Souls rise when we Honor Our Spirit Team, Claim Our Creative Birthrights, Divine Our Purpose, Bow to Limits, and Learn to Dance with Suffering.
I am in year thirteen of finding and claiming these soul bones. I am in year two of sharing it with the help of The Art of Ensoulment: A Playbook on How to Create From Body and Soul. Indeed, much is rising. All I need to do is to stay spacious to it. Stay in the bones. See what happens.
If you are drawn, click here for my Invitation to the Upcoming Art of Ensoulment Practice. I have two lovely Welcome Retreats. The bigger offerings start in January.
PAUSE.
I am grateful to write to you on Substack. I don’t feel a great need for you to read it. I am honored when you do. Especially if something connects and you comment. Thank you.
Space- the final frontier. I hope you are in situations and with people who give you the space you need.
It all connects! I am starting the journey right now!
Thank you Cynthia for reminding me to slow down and move at the speed of my body. I am doing that at this time and am enjoying the peacefulness in my life.
